Mine mine mine...

Most stories have a beginning and an end. Family stories have many beginnings, some of which are lost to time and faded memories. The end of the family story only happens when the last person is gone, the last person whose life had been touched by the millions of strings it takes to be a family.
My family asked me why I cared so much about learning about their histories. The reality is not all the people in the family were good people, or even loving people. Some secrets and pasts are better forgotten so pain can ease over time. Maybe it is only faith that allows me to look past these hurts, or maybe it’s my own vanity, but I think that so much can be explained by the poor circumstances of peoples’ lives and undiscovered illnesses of the time. I don’t think by any means anyone was evil in the family. I do think that they were somehow lost, and I often try to find them in their environments and times.
Why, then? Because sometimes I feel insignificant, unconnected, lost as well. When I think about all the extraordinary timing of events that had to occur to make me here, I realize I am not just a single and unimportant. And neither are those men and women who made me, even though they are long gone and often nothing is known. They may never have thought of their posterity. They may never have even liked me or have been kind to me. Maybe I would have learned from their wisdom, their hard work, their suffering.
I suppose the biggest truth is: I would like to remembered, so I will remember others.

--------------------
My day. I don't remember most of it. I was very, very tired. Jarrod came home early and we did our usual SWG, napping and such. Tomorrow (actually later today) we have to get a lot of work done. My stupid side mirror on my car got smashed on the road the other day by some vandals. We need to sell my ugly Caprice, and to do that we need to get it washed. We're not sure if we want to trade it in or not. We also need to pick up some clothes for Jarrod and my medications.

But enough boring crap.

This is a great site I have enjoyed for years. The guy is an amazing artist and I'm really impressed by his web page.

Today's stuff -- Yeah, 8 simple rules is thinking about killing off John Ritter's character and replacing it with Uncle Fonzie. That is retarded! They need to just end the show. Come ON!
